Top 3 Methods For Dropping Excess Pounds

Submitted by on Friday September 25, 2009 No Comments

When losing weight, it’s important that you recognize triggers that cause you to overeat, or eat when you really don’t need to. Here are three great tips to keep you out of the danger zone and help you lose weight faster.

1. Don’t chat in the kitchen. If you’re on the phone or talking to a family member, don’t hold the conversation in front of the refrigerator. That’s too tempting! Take the conversation into another room, or better yet — chat while walking outside. With a cordless phone you can walk up and down your driveway and get some exercise in while talking.

2. Don’t pay your bills at the kitchen table. It’s common for people to use the kitchen table as a “catch all” for taking care of household duties, but it’s dangerous. Paying your bills or doing other activities at the kitchen table is a temptation to stroll over the pantry and grab a “quick snack” that you really don’t need.

3. Keep TV watching to a minimum. We all have shows that we love to watch, but if you find that you spend most of your free time in front of the television, it’s time for a change. What do we love to do while watching TV? That’s right — snack! Instead of watching television, why not go for a walk or play with your kids in the yard?

Losing weight means knowing what triggers you to gain the weight in the first place. Be preemptive, keep yourself out of the danger zone and you’ll find your weight loss efforts much more effective.
