When you are looking to achieve healthy and gradual weight loss you therefore need to be realistic with what you can achieve in a certain timescale. Many fad diets will promise that you will be losing a stone in a couple of weeks, or something similar, but this is not sustainable as a long-term goal. The best way to go about things is to gradually lose weight in a healthy manner and therefore you do need to be realistic about how much weight you can lose on a short-term basis.
You should be aiming to eat roughly 5 or six meals every single day. These should be consumed every three or so hours and should be relatively small portions. By doing this you should keep your metabolism running at peak efficiency meaning that you will be burning off more calories throughout the day.
Within your meals that you should be incorporating the right types of foods. Essentially you should be looking to include about 40% protein each meal, 40% vegetables, and 40% whole grain carbs. Obviously, things like healthy fats, fibre, and anything else also needs to be incorporated within this.
You should be trying to vary the meals that you eat as well. Staying with a strict diet can be made more difficult if you are eating similar foods every day. Instead, try to develop a routine whereby you have all sorts of different options to choose from.
If you do all of this then you should see some decent results as time goes by. Throw in a little bit of exercise and your results will be even better.
