In America, birthdays are something to celebrate. There are various times that are spent just making plans and making activities to have these parties that will only be a few hours.
Having a baby is such a majical moment. When the baby turns one, it is a great opportunity for a party, so invite everyone!
It is nice to throw a big a first birthday because you are able to celebrate the growth of both mom and baby over the past year. People were excited when mom was pregnant and gave birth, then the baby grew through the year and now there is a good reason to get back together again.
