Simple Steps to Speed Up Your Computer

Submitted by on Friday October 28, 2011 No Comments

I was asking my buddies and looking around the internet to find how can i speed up my computer since it is starting to work really slow but I don’t want to spend any more money to purchase a brand new computer. It took me a while but I was able to gather a few guidelines on how to do it and I thought that I should share it in here.

First thing to do? Check computer speed. Does the speed matches the overall processing of your computer? Does opening a small program decelerates the PC on overall? Have you already reached the point in which your cursor isn’t responding as quickly as you are willing it to? The windows that you clicked still not showing up in your screen? If yes, then you truly have to do something about it.

The most fundamental, simple, and easy thing to do to speed up your computer is deleting unnecessary files. Delete all those text documents which you do not really require, the images that you don’t truly need. If you’re too lazy to do these things, then use Disk Clean-up tool to clean up the required space on the computer hard drive so that the performance of the Computer could be increased. The Disk Clean-up removes temporary Net files, delete downloaded software files, empty the Trash Can, and delete installed software programs which are no more in use. You do not need to concern yourself with deleting important files as it identifies files that you may securely delete and allows you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the files.

The next thing to do in speeding up your computer and keeping it safe as well, is running your antivirus and checking if an undesirable software like spy ware is slowing down the computer’s process. This type of software, like a key logger, collects private information without letting you know and without asking for your permission, use the details illegally and, of course, slows down your computer!

Deleting unneeded files and cleaning your computer from undesired software and viruses, then it’s now time for defragmentation. Disk Defragmenter is a software program in Windows which consolidates fragmented files and folders on the hard drive in order that each occupies just one space. This may take a moment depending on how big are the files saved in your PC. Turn it into a habit to do this once in a week and your computer will never slow down.

There’re also available computer software in the market to speed up your PC. If the above steps don’t solve your problem then it would be good to check them out. At first, I also had a difficult time finding ways how to speed up my computer but, as you see, with only some easy steps you can do it too.
