Peanut Butter And Weight Loss
Is peanut butter good for you?
Well, sometimes, but you have to watch out.
I’m a big proponent of peanut butter. Even though I do not take in a lot of candy, to me peanut butter tastes like a Snicker’s Bar. I can take in a whole jar if I really wanted to but that would just be too many calories in one time.
The good news is that, peanut butter is overall healthy and great for your health. There have been research papers done on peanut butter demonstrating great health benefits for your health, such as a lowered risk from cardiovascular disease due to the high amounts of healthy fats and resveratrol contained in peanuts.
Scientists are also discovering that resveratrol can offer us a huge breakthrough with regards to the aging process. They are seeing that it can save or repair the telomeres located towards the end of your cells. Think of telomeres as a string coming from of a cell. As the cell ages, the telomeres get smaller and smaller until there is nothing there anymore and the cell dies. Well, resveratrol has been found to increase the life span of those telomeres and this stuff can be found in peanut butter.
Overall is peanut butter is good for you? It is but you must look out for this 1 variable.
If you go to your local grocery store or wal-mart, peruse the back of the nutrition facts of many regular types of peanut butter. It doesn’t matter if it’s chunky or smooth. On the back of the label you’ll probably see that the ingredients listed aren’t just peanuts and salt. It should also say hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil. That is trans fat!
So is peanut putter good for you? Yes, just look out for trans fats.
