Nanna And Her Little Helper

Submitted by on Friday December 17, 2010 No Comments

Next month we see my grandma. I enjoy visiting her, even if she has become a little stubborn in her old age. I won’t embarrass her by sharing her years, but let’s just say she’s a lady with thoroughly seasoned wisdom.

The last time I saw her I brought my yamaha keyboard so I could play her some music. She enjoyed it, but regrettably since she’s not completely there, she kept disrupting me to ask me to help her find a all-in-one scanner. Yes, she actually uses a computer. And perhaps she was disrupting me because I am just that weak at the keyboard.

I always find something puzzling at her place when I see her. Last time, I discovered several books on penny stocks on her cocktail table. My nanna learning about how to buy penny stocks online? That is nuts. I wonder what I’ll find on her coffee table this year.

This week will make for a busy sojourn. I must put in her new Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then repair her garden cart. I additionally must take her old pots and pans to charity because she recently purchased a new set of pots and pans to replace them. As a reward, she claims to also have bought the best ice cream maker and the very best of all the electic coffee makers. I am thankful, yet I also must laugh softly as she invariably claims to have or utilize only the very best of this or that.

If everything proceeds well, she will use both to serve me some delicious java at dawn and ice cream in the evening. That sounds like more than reward enough for my assistance. I’m glad to assist her for nothing, but a bit of robust coffee and creamy ice cream doesn’t hurt.
