A Montreal based designer of innovative aquatic products, just recently introduced a completely new concept to having fun on the water. This new idea called itBiking, is a new generation of pedal boats.

itBiking is a new fad that incorporates a light, human powered water bike that features a high performance prop based biking system mounted on the top of a world-class glass fiber body. The combination of its design, lightness and prop-based transmission system enables itBike to travel 2-3 times faster than conventional pedal boats. There is also a version for 2 people called the itbike double.

The itBike hull is made of a high tech composite glass fiber cover and inside the hull is a closed cell foam core that does not allow any water to penetrate the its shell. The surface of the hull bottom is ultra smooth thereby promoting extra gliding capability. This unique new invention includes the lightweight aluminum bike system and an integrated fiber-glass keel that clips into the hull in 60 seconds or less.

Being less than 8 feet long, ItBike is compact enough to put on top of a car or inside a SUV and weighs less than 70 pounds. Besides its attraction of being the newest fad on the block, itBiking provides a demanding workout as well as a genuine thrill when used at high speeds. Excellent aerobic and anaerobic conditioning is achieved through the natural resistance of the water on the propeller based transmission systems. Heart, lungs, abs and legs get a vigorous workout. itBike promotes an environmentally safe way to ride on the water. itBike offers water sports fanatics an opportunity to quietly look and hear their surroundings as they peddle along the coast, by some marshes or on the open water.

itBiking is very easy to do, is very safe, and is loads of fun. itBike is very stable and can be used in 3-foot waves and 25-knot winds.
