Find the best places to eat out In Northern Britain

Submitted by on Thursday October 29, 2009 No Comments

If you have a job that allows you to travel around the United Kingdom you get to experience different counties and the local amenities they have. I have been fortunate enough to see most of the towns, cities and villages in the United Kingdom and I’m always asked by my friends and family of where to go when they are away from home. One thing I have found is that the North of England has some of the best restaurants to eat at in the UK and that you cannot beat a Liverpool or Manchester restaurant.

Every time I visit the North of England I frequently try to go out for some thing to eat at a restaurant or pub. The variety of restaurants is ridiculous, from basic bar food and pizzas to top end cuisine from a famous chef. Cities such as Manchester and Liverpool have an amazing array of good quality restaurants. I remember my amazement on my first visit to Manchester as I strolled down the Oxford Road and past the University of Manchester to see a vast amount of indian restaurants and take aways that must of continued on for a couple of miles.

Restaurants in Liverpool are usually very stylised and have a real trendy artistic feel about them. This is easy to believe as Liverpool is the European city of culture. This can be brilliant if you are taking a girlfriend out for something to eat and you want to impress because many of these restaurants have some great furnishings. When you are looking for some where to eat that is a little more quaint with more of a traditional touch then restaurants in areas like the Wirral and Runcorn are perfect.

Manchester restaurants have to be my all time favourites. There are so many amazing restaurants available. You can get cheap meals at most pubs and bars but as well as this there are some amazing restaurants to be found in the cities side streets. Once when I was in Manchester I was taken to a fantastic indian restaurant where the food was great. The only other time I have had food to that standard was when I was in London. Look at a Restaurant guide when you are thinking about eating out.
