Dont Expect Much From Proform Elliptical Trainers

Submitted by on Thursday April 30, 2009 No Comments

You will be able to find a lot of people who like their elliptical trainers from this brand, but the fact is, they are not of good quality. These machines are good enough for ocasional exercises. However for daily and vigorous workouts another type of elliptical would be a better choice.

Another drawback with these elliptical machines is that the warranty is very short, 90 days on parts, and 90 days on labor. If you do decide on an elliptical trainer from this brand you should certainly invest in the extended warranty. Some people have also complained that after the warranty has run out it’s been difficult to get the company interested in your problems with the machine.

Proform ellipticals are made to look much better than they are, to catch the consumers eye. You get a cooling fan and a 6 interesting workout programs with a Proform 800 elliptical trainer. There is an option of downloading some more exercising programs via Internet. The handlebars move to work your upper body and the unit has a heart rate monitor.

Icon Fitness is the manufacturer of these machines. Icon Fitness makes fitness equipment for some other companies as well. It’s bad to hear that these elliptical trainers had problems when tested in the lab, even on the first use. Brand new part was required for one of these while other needed even more attention. And another problem is the noise, these trainers failed that test in the lab too.

Most popular models are Proform 400, Proform 900 and Proform 675 trainer. These units are used at home since they have very low price and people think they will save money by doing that. Too many users complain about malfunctions that are impossible to fix and parts that break all the time. Reconsider your purchase of these three models: 400, 675 and 900.

It is highyl recommended to try any elliptical trainer you want to buy, so you can make a good decision based on that test.
