Idea #1: The Enchanted Highway - Regent, North Dakota. The Enchanted Highway is the artistic creation of local Regent resident, Gary Greff. The Enchanted Highway is a series of metal sculptures that stand along the highway. The Tin Pa is 45 feet tall, the Tin Ma is 44 feet tall and the Tin Son is 23 feet tall. The sculpture, “Theodore Roosevelt Rides Again” was erected in 1993. The “Geese in Flight” sculpture was erected in 2001.
Idea #2: Writing Rocks State Historic Site - Grenora, North Dakota. Petroglyphs are pictures or patterns that have been chiseled into the rocks by people that have no written language. In 1931 two brothers, Henry and Edgar Syverud, formed the Writing Rock Historical Society, and five years later the Society purchased the site surrounding the two rocks. Today Writing Rocks State Historic Site includes a playground and picnic shelters for visitors to enjoy as they study the rocks for themselves.
