Diapers
When my child was a baby, I hated buying diapers. There are too many different styles and sizes to choose from. Why can diapers not just be diapers? There were so many times that I choose to get the more generic brand names of diapers and we were more satisfied with them than the name brand. For example, I found the CVS brand to be wonderful. Every so often, CVS would put them on sale for buy one, get one free and I would buy four packs. Not only did I save money on diapers when that happened, I also did not have to worry about buying more for several weeks.
I cannot even begin to approximate how many diapers I changed in the 2-1/2 years that it took for her to be considered potty trained. I do know that I can count on one hand, the number of diapers that my husband has changed in that time frame. He would disappear into thin air every time he smelled a used stinky diaper. He would make a big point of handing her to me before he would leave the house with her so that I would check her diaper. It made me nuts.
However, we have made it this far and still are going strong. I am quite sure that my daughter has to be relieved to not being wearing diapers or pull-ups anymore either. I do not imagine that they would be too comfortable, but obviously I was too young to remember wearing them. Maybe that is why children tend to take off running when their diapers are off. Being naked might feel like pure freedom to them. Small wonder they make us chase them all around the house until we catch them.
