RAM was the first profile cylinder on the market with Kitemark BS EN13032005 approval and provides protection against picking, drilling and bumping.  VBH continues to supply large quantities  of RAM which is used on both new installations and in the repair market as an effective upgrade from a standard profile cylinder.

It could be said that the criminal element turned from brawn to brain when they employed the bumping method of cylinder manipulation according to Locksmith Manchester Company but faced with solutions such as RAM they resorted to type with the result of rising numbers of break-ins using the snap and extract method.

The increase was the stimulant for profile cylinder suppliers and manufacturers  to develop solutions that not only feature the protection afforded by RAM but also protect the cylinder from snapping without the need to fit a security handle – something the Locksmiths Manchester.

Milenco is a well respected brand of multi-point door locks for PVCu composite and timber doors and the company wasted no time in finding such a solution in the form of the Magnum cylinder.  VBH is a distributer of Milenco door locks   so was seen as an ideal route to market for this exciting new product.

VBH advise that Magnum protects against all methods currently used to bypass a Euro-profile cylinder namely picking, drilling, bumping and snap and extract.  A steel bar holds the inner and outer halves together and strengthens what is otherwise a weak point around the fixing screw.  There are also additional sacrificial break-points to further increase protection.  The product is tested and accredited to BS EN1303.2005 and carries the classification 16000C6 – insurance graded says Locksmith Manchester Company.
