As a young lad living at home I watched my mother spend a couple of evenings every week doing the family ironing and wondered why she did it. It was obvious she detested it yet she did it every week. With a husband and three sons to launder for she must have been doing a couple of dozen shirts Shirts in particular were hanging on the back of doors as she ironed them before hung them on hangers ready to take upstairs .
At the time much to my shame now I never realised just how much that chore of ironing with all the bending down then picking up that electric iron was tiring her.
Much later I got married and I realised I was seeing my new wife becoming physically tired before collapsing into the armchair at the end of the evening’s ironing. I decided to give her a break and offered to do it for her next time. Convenience. Do they offer a collection/delivery service?
How much does the transport cost? Are the days and times suitable for your needs?
Obviously take up references on the company in advance.
Is an ironing service worth the money? Labour saving of course but most of all think about the quality time you will be able to take with your family. That was to me one of the greatest benefits in using our chosen ironing service but one they did not even advertise.
